Music
Our curriculum intent for music is to excite, promote and sustain children’s interests musically by providing an enjoyable learning experience by exploring sounds and learning to play different musical instruments.
Children will experience music lessons practically by participating in a variety of musical experiences such as performances, singing to an audience and having artists visit the school. The teaching will primarily focus on developing the children’s ability to understand rhythm and follow a beat.
We believe in helping engender an appreciation of human creativity and achievement.
They will listen to and appreciate different types of music as well as learning the technical vocabulary such as volume, pitch, beat and rhythm which will encourage children to discuss music using these terms. This will develop their confidence in their own musical ability. Teachers will promote creativity and welcome innovation as the children of RFPS will be given ample opportunity to compose their own pieces of music.
